11.4.2001: Besides expenses nothing been... 

After my return from the USA, I had started training on the red clay in Majorca and travelled on Saturday to Estoril in good spirits. I had left my dog Mick in the care of my parents, because he had a little earache.Because already in round one was everything of Denisa Chladkova.. 

Okay, one can lose against her. It would not have happened to me if I was in form. She played very well, I just did not and so lost 5:7, 6:3, 2:6 and after the 2nd set I still thought I could turn it around. 

I had waited on Monday for my doubles match for a long time, because it was schedulded quite late. I was with Babsi Schet and this made the time better . We had much fun, what with the great weather (25 degrees in the shadow). We had laughed, in time then the concentration-phase begun. It has helped nothing. Today, I still play doubles, but not with Babsi, because she is not quite fit and wants to concentrate completely on her singles but with Tina Pisnik. 

Now I really hope, that this first round loss (my first in this year)  is no bad omen for the next clay court tournaments.  Because I have committed for Hamburg, Berlin and Paris.
